The Cour du Mûrier:
In the cloister of the old convent, Alexandre Lenoir planted
a Chinese mulberry tree (mûrier), which gave its name
to this shady courtyard. Duban rebuilt the cloister in 1836,
transforming it into a Classical atrium surrounded with arcades
and decorated with a fountain. During the Second Empire he
completed the decoration with paintings in the style of Pompeii
and casts of the Pantheon friezes, which are displayed half-way
up the walls on three sides of the courtyard.
