Jardin Lenoir / The Lenoir Garden

Renovated in 1994, this garden, called the Lenoir garden in memory of Alexandre Lenoir's installations, shelters a Roman marble bath-tub and two large Corinthian columns from the tomb of the constable of Montmorency (Saint Martin's church). All of these items were in the collections of the Lenoir museum.

The garden also contains, among other things, the arcades from the ground level facade of the hotel du Faur, known as the hotel Torpanne, built in 1567 on grounds next to the Bernardin Convent in the Marais. The sculptures decorating these six arcades, the entry way and the bulls-eye window of the main facade date from 1567. The date is inscribed on one of the standards.
